One morning I glanced up into Mabel’s branches and spotted three starlings perched in a row. Two were sitting very still while the third was stretching out a bit. I fired off a few snaps, knowing in the back of my mind that this photo was going to need a little help to make it look the way I was seeing it with my naked eye.
This is our beautiful cat Simba, but we call her Mama Kitty. We weren’t even looking to adopt another pet when she literally found us. Five years ago, we were standing on the deck enjoying the spring weather when we heard this strange scratching noise. Suddenly, a gray cat appeared on the deck…and promptly strolled through the open door into the house, as if she’d always lived here.
