At the beginning of the month, I’d asked for people to vote on which of the pictures in my portfolio would look best on a gallery wall. The responses to both the contest and the giveaway have been overwhelmingly kind and eye-opening as to what others see in my photos.
I redesigned my website to make it easier to purchase prints and products featuring my photos. Getting paid to take nature pictures full-time is my ultimate dream – I have a plan to make that happen, and it all starts with what YOU like best.
I’m always grateful when someone asks me to provide photo services for any occasion. It means a lot that others think so much of my skills they want me to be the one who captures those special or important moments for them.
I received an email informing me I’d taken first place in a photo contest sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation Magazine – my second win! More than 4,800 photos were received, and my shot of Monarch butterflies stood out through 3 rounds of judging.
In March of 2018, I entered a few of my nature photos in the annual National Wildlife Magazine Photo Contest…and then promptly forgot about it. I knew there would be a lot of entries from photographers with far more advanced equipment and skills, and I didn’t really count myself as a potential winner.
